It's like a vortex out there! I'm not even sure what that means. I just know at times when I feel the lowest it's probably because my last interaction with a human wasn't the most precious of moments. You know the times when you didn't like how your boss ignored you or your fellow grocery shopper cut you off. It's those times and the times with the inevitable mistakes I make that get me in the depths of despair (aka over-thinking into oblivion). When I'm in the slumps I stop dreaming, the creative flow shuts off and the mind-numbing scrolling begins. How do I get out of this cycle?
Enter my favorite people: The friends that have been like family, my husband or the new friend that took time out of her busy schedule to encourage me. It's the real human connection that inspires me.
Let me tell you about Emily.
You need people in your life like her! There are good people out there. Dreams go further when you have a sounding board. The statistics are dim if you look at the lifespan of a small business these days. I think the secret is finding good people to learn from and to grow with.
We love our community here. I've met so many professional solopreneurs that have shared with me a deep longing to be connected with other local small business owners that talk outside of the occasional shout out on social media. I have a few close friends who have done that for me. These dear people really make the difference for my business. They push me to reach my goals and encourage the heck out of me. I need people like this and you might need them too.
